How Can We Hear God’s Love?- Romans 8:31-39- September 1, 2019
Sunday Sep 01, 2019
Sunday Sep 01, 2019
When we demand that God communicate his love to us in the ways we want him to, we will not hear the expansive dimensions of it. God has loved us in Christ’s crucifixion on the cross. He continues to love us in his call to crucify the old self to follow Christ. God’s love is always in Christ. In life’s experiences that threaten our sense of God’s love, may we look to Christ, crucified and calling, and hear, “I love you.”

What do we do with our hearts? As Christians, we know that God has made our hearts clean and new. But, we can grow cold and are prone to wander. Do we follow our inclinations wherever they lead in the name of authenticity? Do we wait for our emotions to reengage with God and spiritual things before we pursue them? Sunday Aug 18, 2019
Toward the end of his life and ministry, Jesus taught about the end of history as we know it, which will be the time of his return. Jesus said that in light of the final end, we are always to be praying that we may not lose heart and drift into sin, not be caught unaware and unprepared for his return, escape the temptations that come in this life, and stand before him in joy. Let us be the people of faith who are praying when the Son of Man comes again.

Words of Grace Podcast- The Great Shift
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
This week's podcast was originally recorded in January 2018. Justin and Scott take a look at how the gospel helps us shift from thinking about “me” to “we,” and from “us” to “Christ”. If a church made these shifts, what impact would that have on the health and helpfulness of that church in the community they live in?

Praying for the World - Luke 10:1-3 - August 11, 2019
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
It may seem idealistic to pray for the whole world. But, praying for the world is what Jesus told his church to do. God called the church from the world, and from the church he continues to call the world. When we pray for the world, we are praying for God’s saving call to go from us to others, and for others to respond in faith. As we pray for the world, we will be moved by God to go into the world with the gospel.
